The physical search of hand carried items is conducted as a deterrent to the theft of TVA equipment and is not required by NRC commitments. Security personnel stated that they (R1 inspected all hand carried items during random searches and the interviewer observed purses being searched.

Root Cause None. Concern SQM-6-010-001 could not be validated. Therefore, no root cause was determined.
