Subject: Combined Inspection Nos. 50-317/87-02 and 50-318/87-02
This refers to the routine safeguards inspection conducted by Mr. R. J. Bailey
of this office on February 17-20, 1987 at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power
Plant, Units 1 and 2, Lusby, Maryland of activities authorized by NRC License
Nos. DPR-53 and OPR-69 and to the discussions of our findings held by
Mr. Bailey with Mr. D. W. Latham at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Our inspector also verified the steps you have taken to correct the violation
brought to your attention in a letter dated June 6,1986. We have no further
questions regarding your action at this time.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
A paragraph in the enclosed inspection report contains details of your security
program that have been determined to be exempt from public disclosure in
accordance with 10 CFR 73.21 (Safeguards Information). Therefore, it will not
be placed in the NRC Public Document Room and will receive limited distribu-
tion. This letter and the remainder of the inspection report will be placed in
the Public Document Room, in accordance with 10 CFR 2.790(a).
No reply to this' letter is required. Your cooperation with us is appreciated.
