SUDJECT: NOTICE OF VIOLATION

This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Conmission (NRC) inspection conducted by
C. l.. Vanderniet on Oncember 15-17, 1906.
The inspection included a review of
activities authortred for your Shearon Hartis fact lity.
At the conclusion of
the ins)ection, the findings were discussed with those mentbors of your staff
identified in the enclosed tnspection report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report. Within those
areas, the inspection Consisted of selettive examinations of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observation of activities
in progress.
The inspection findings indicato that certain activitius appeared to violate NRC
requirements.
The violation, references to pertinent requirenwnts, and elements
to be included in your response are described in the enclosed Notice of Viola-
tion.
Your attention is inytted to paragraph 6 in the inspection report.

in this area.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2

The respuntos directed by this lutter and its enclosurus are not subject to the
clearance procedures of tho Of fice of Management and Dudget as required by the
Paperwork Reduction Act of 1980, PL 90 511.
