SUBJECT:

TRANSFER OF COMANCHE PEAR ALLEGATION TO THE OFFICE OF INVESTIGATIONS FOR REVIEW On August 8, 1984, Mr. Richard Wessman and two members of the TRT staff interviewed Mr. Don Nisich, a former Brown and Root employee, at Comanche Peak. In the course of that interview, Mr. Nisich alleged that ,

Mr. Allen Smith (a Brown and Root supervisor) threatened him making a '

statement to the effect that he would have "no further opportunities for l employment in the nuclear industry if he contacted GAP or the NRC."

, You are requested to assume lead responsibility for followup of this l allegation. The interview with Mr. Nisich was transcribed and a copy of that transcript will be provided to you when it becomes available.

This matter was discussed between H. Brooks Grif fin of your staf f and R. Wessman on August 9, 1984. Please contact Mr. Wessman if you have any questions.

On August 1,1984, during the interview of former Brown & Root, Inc. personnel by the tiRR Technical Review Team (TRT), a recently terminated Brown & Root employee at the Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station alleged that a Brown & Root supervisor threatened to " blackball" him in the nuclear industry if he contacted the fiRC.
