Docket Nos. 50 413 and 50-414 Technical Specification Amendment Containment Pressure Control System Oear Sir By "05000414/LER-1988-018-01, :on 880427,steam Generator 2C hi-hi Level Turbine Trip Signal Occurred & Feedwater Isolation Initiated.Cause Unknown.Affected Valves Realigned & [[system" contains a listed "[" character as part of the property label and has therefore been classified as invalid. Isolation Reset|letter dated May 27, 1988]], a preposed Technical Specification amendment was subtsitted concerning clarification to the requirements for the Containment Pressure Control System (CFCS). Attached is a modification to the intert for I

pa2e 3/4 3-26.

Action Statement b.1. should readt i

1.

Place the inoperable channele in the termination mode within 2 hours2.314815e-5 days
5.555556e-4 hours
3.306878e-6 weeks
7.61e-7 months
.

l and,...

This is the proper position in which to place the channels it the minimum channels required operable condition cannot be met.

With the inoperable channels in the termination mode, the Containment Spray (NS) System and the Containment Air Return and Hydrogen Skitraer (VX) System will not be allowed to function.

i This will ensure that the pressure inside containment will not be reduced to less than desired levels by the operation of these systens. The proposed Action Statement for the CICS will still call for entering the NS and VX Systems specific Action Statements (since the action to be taken will render these r

systens inoperable) and the appropriate Action Statement requirerents will have

{

to be met.

h Since this letter transmits a supplement to a previous licensa amendnent request, no additional license fees are required.

Pursuant to 10 CTR 50.91 (b) (1) the appropriate South Carolina State Of ficial is
