This refers to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) inspection conducted by
A. L. Cunningham on September 15-19, 1988.
The inspection included a review of
activities authorized for your McGuire fai :lity.
At the conclusion of the
inspection, the findings were discussed w sth those members of your staff
identified in the enclosed inspection report.
Areas examined during the inspection are identified in the report.
Within
these areas, the inspection censisted of selective examinations of procedures
t.nd re?resentative acords, interviaws with personnel, and observation of
activities in progress.
Within the scope
f the inspection, no violations or deviations were

identified.
Your attention 15. directed to the exercise weakness identified in Daragraph 6
of the enclosed Inspection Report.
As required by 10 CFR 50, Appendix E.
Section IV f.
any weaknesses that are identified shall be corrected.
Accordingly, nicase advise us within 45 days of the date of this letter, the
corrective ac ion you have taken, or plan to take, showing the estimated date
of completion with regards to the exercise weakness.
in accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," Part 2
Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter and its enclosure
will be placed in the NRC Public Document Roon.
