Dear Mr. Farrar:
E. Jordan LFM8 The Commission has issued the enclosed Amendment No.102 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-39 and Amendment No.92 to Facility Operating License No. DPR-48 for the Zion Nuclear Power Station, Unit Nos. I and 2, respectively. The amendments consist of changes to the Technical Specifications in response to your application transmitted by letter dated October 16, 1986.
These amendments would allow disabling the rod control system at Zion Station during the time periods that a reactor is in Mode 3 with less than four reactor coolant pumps operating.
A copy of the related Safety Evaluation is enclosed. A Notice of Issuance will be included in the Commission's next regular bi-weekly Federal Register notice.
