SUMMARY

WITH BIG ROCK POINT CONCERNING PROPOSED AMENDMENT OF TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS (TAC #99687) AND REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION On October 29,1997, representatives from Big Rock Point (BRH and the NRC staff met at NRC headquarters to discuss your proposed amendment of technical specifications to reflect the permanent shutdown and defueled condition of the plant and proposed exemption from certain 10 CFR Part 50 emergency planning requirements. We also discussed your planned activities involving the reactor and spent fuel pool, Updated Final Hazards Summary Report, decommissioning financial status, and the agenda of the upcoming November 13,1997, public meeting. Attachment 1 is a list of attendees at the 3, October 29 meeting and Attachment 2 is c copy of the meeting br:ndout presented by your staff. The meeting was requested by Consumers Energy and was open to public observation.
