Dear M . Kingsley:

By letter dated November 13,1996, Commonwealth Edison Company cubmitted a revised steam generator tube rupture analysis for Byron, Unit i and Braidwood, Unit 1. The revhed analyses were submitted in support of the steam generator replacements at those units. Additional information was provided by letters dated March 20, June 24, August 19, November 3, November 26, and December 19,1997.

We have completed our review ar,d have concluded that with regard to the 6GTR accident

, analysis, the staff finds the replacement of the steam generators at Byron, Unit 1 and Braldwood, Unit 1 acceptable.
