This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. W. J. Lazarus
and others on April 3, 1986 at the Pilgrim Generating Station, Plymouth,
Massachusetts, of activities authorized by NRC License No. DPR-35, and to
discussions of our findings held by Mr. Lazarus with Mr. R. Silva of your
staff at the conclusion of the inspection
The area examined during this inspection was limited to observation of an
emergency drill which was performed to demonstrate effective control of
re-entry personnel into high radiation areas. This area had been identified
by our inspectors, in your September 5,1985 emergency exercise, as an area
requiring corrective action. Based on observation of your emergency drill,
performance was determined to be acceptable.
No violations were identified, and no response to this letter is required.
