This consists of rubbing filter paper or other absothent material, using moderate pressure, over an area of 100 square tentimeters of the package surfare. The activity on the filter paper should not eHceed 0.01 microcuries of temovable contamination.

4.6 Inspection - Industilal Nuclear Company's Souf re Changer, Model lll-50, Type O Patkoge,is shipped in a steel drum (shippitig container - overpack).
Inspect the shipping container and the source Clianger for signs of any damage. If damage is euldent, the carrier and Industrial Nuclear Company should be informed immediately.

10.1.3 Leak Tests - The radioactive Iridium 1.

- 10. f.4 Component Test - The lock assembly of the Model 18-50 Source Changer is tested to assure that the security of the source assembly will he maintained, failure of this test tvill prevent use of the package until the lock assembly is replaced or repaired and retested.
IUnrning: Thr Model III-50 Source Changer has been prepared for use with Industrial Nuclear's source models.
Ilomever comparable sources from another manufacture should be acceptable. No attempt should be made to alter the assembly or to insert an unauthorized source model(s).
10.1.5 Test for Shiniding integrity - The radiation levels at the surf ace of the Model 18-50 Source Changer, and at I meter (40") from the surface are measured using a calibrated survey Instrument. The radiation levels, when loaded to its rated capacity, should not euceed 200 mH/hr at the surface nor 10 mH/hr. at I meter (40") from the surface, f ailure of this test will prevent shipment of the package.
10.2 Maintenance Program - The Model IR-50 Source Chanr,er is inspected and tested prior to each source shipment. f ailure of the inspection and/or test will cause the shipment to be rejected until corrected, re-inspected and tested.
The Source Changer is also subject to inspection and maintenance each day the equipment is used and/or at intervals not to eucced three (3) months.
10.2.1 ienk Inst - The radioactive source assembly is leak tested by Industrial Nuclear Company prior to shipment. Additionally, the source assembly is suhJr.r t to lenk testing for leakage of radioactive contamination every sin (6) months.
10.2.2 Subsystem Maintenance - The lock assembly is ir.spected and tested prior to each use of the Source Changer. Additionally, the Sourte Changer is inspected for tightness of the equipment and the general condition prior to each use.
