Gentlemen:
SUBJECT: REPORT NO. 50-414/85-66
Thank you for your response of March 19, 1986, to our inspection report issued on
January 28, 1986, concerning - the fire protection program at your Catawba
facility.
Your letter provided clarification on several items in our report.
These items are of an editorial nature and will be verified during subsequent NRC
inspections.
Also, your letter provided -additional information and a fire hazards analysis on
-the areas referred to as the Doghouses at Catawba. These.are Fire Areas 48, 49,
50 and 51.
An analysis for these areas was not available at the time of our
-inspection.
However, since the analysis identifies several deviations from the
NRC guidelines, we are forwarding this information to our Office of Nuclear
Reactor Regulation for further review.. This item is currently identified by
Region II as Inspector Followup Item 414/85-66-01 which will remain outstanding
pending completion of the review.
Your letter states that the information and analysis submitted meet the
- confidential requirements of 10 CFR 2.790(d) for being withheld from public
-
disclosure.
We will advise NRR that the analysis should be withheld from public
disclosure.
