Release of the Wet Weather Stream for Unrestricted Use (TAC No. L30746),

Dear Mr. Lamastra:
1 Framatome Cogema Fuels has prepared a final work plan to address the outstanding issues surrounding the release of the area known as the Wet Weather Stream. A copy is enclosed with this letter for your review and approval.
i As we stated in our letter dated September 8,1998, our objective in developing this plan is to clearly state what work will be performed with respect to surveying and identifying areas which remain above the guideline value. Our goal, once work begins, is to continue surveying and remediating areas above the guideline value until the entire Wet Weather Stream area is clearly demonstrated to be below the guideline value. We will then obtain several soil samples to confirm the direct survey measurements.
We would like to begin the survey work in February 1999, following your approval of the intended scope of work and the details contained in the plan. If you have any questions regarding this matter, please contact me at (804) 832-5202. Seven copies of this letter and the enclosure have been forwarded under separate cover to the public document room.
