I want to register my strong opposition to the HOLTEC storage proposal near Carlsbad, New Mexico.

The notion of storing all the nations nuclear waste in one location is incredibly wrong-headed and dangerous.

My home and property face directly onto Highway 285South. This highway already sees traffic of nuclear waste to the WIPP plant, which is of great concern.

The highway is not safe and already gets accidents from truck traffic. Adding more nuclear transport vehicles to the mix is not advisable! My familys health, and my neighbors health is at risk.

Transporting nuclear waste over thousands of miles to New Mexico is a set-up for accidents and possible disaster, and New Mexico, a minority majority state, should not have to bear this extremely dangerous and long-lasting burden.

Because we are a poor state does not mean that our lives are worth less.
