Gentlemen:
SUBJECT: NOTICE OF VIOLATION
(NRC INSPECTION REPORT NOS. 50-325/85-26 AND 50-324/85-26)
This refers to the special team inspection of Environmental Qualification con-
ducted by the NRC August 12 - 16, 1985, of activities authorized by Operating
License Nos. DPR-71 and DPR-62 for the Brunswick Steam Electric plant.
The
results of this inspection were previously sent to you by our letter of
November 12, 1985.
The inspection team identified four deficiencies classified
as Potential Enforcement / Unresolved Items.
We have determined from a irther
review of these matters that two of the four Potential Enforcement /U.

Items were in violation of NRC requirements.
These two are identific
a the
j
inspection report as items 50-325, 324/85-26-10 " Inclusion of Rockbestos Coaxial
Cable on EQ List," and 50-325, 324/85-26-11, " Qualification of Rockbestos Fire-
wall III Cable."
The violations, references to pertinent requirements, and
elements to be included in your response are presented in the enclosed Notice of
Violation.
Potential Enforcement / Unresolved Items 50-325/324:85-26-04, " Procurement of
Replacement Parts," and 50-325/324:85-26-05, " Qualified Status of Installed Equip-
ment / Establishment of EQ Maintenance Requirements in Plant Procedures," are
regarded as Unresolved Items.
In accordance with Section 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice," Part 2,
Title 10, Code of Federal Regulations, a copy of this letter, its enclosure, and
your reply will be placed in the NRC's Public Document Room upon completion of our
evaluation of the reply,
