REVIEW 0F TOPICAL REPORT WCAP-10125-P, " EXTENDED BURNUP EVALUATION OF WESTINGHOUSE FUEL", JULY 1982 Enclosed are the results of our review of topical report WCAP-10125, " Extended Burnup Evaluation of Westinghouse Fuel." We have concluded, as a result of our review of the report, that Westinghouse methods and safety analyses are valid for operation to the lead rod average burnup target proposed by Westing-house. This conclusion is valid only for Westinghouse Zircaloy-clad fuel. We did not consider the effects of high burnup on Westinghouse stainless steel clad fuel as part of this review.
This review was performed with the assistance of Battelle Pacific Northwest Laboratory under FIN 2533. This concludes our work on TAC 48689.
The evaluation includes an assessment of the radiological consequences of accidents involving extended burnup fuel by the Accident Evaluation Branch.
