REACTOR PROTECTION SYSTEM PROTECTIVE CIRCUITRY SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS
Reference:
TAC Number 62793 By letter dated July 15, 1988, we indicated that your initial. proposal related to the above identified subject was unacceptable. We enclosed our safety evaluation (SE) which provided the basis for our conclusion and requested that you provide proposed technical specifications within 60 days.
We incorrectly indicated in our enclosed SE that this item should be completed prior to restart. This item is not considered necessary to be completed prior to restart. We made the decision based on the fact that Plant Procedure Number 3.M.3.34, "Testing and Calibration of Reactor Protection System (RPS) Electrical Protection Assemblies," provides reasonable assurance that the RPS protective circuitry will be tested and calibrated during the time necessary for the NRC staff to complete its review relating to the above referenced action.
