This refers to the routine safety inspection conducted by Mr. M. Dev of this
office on April- 25-29- 1988, of activities at Oyster Creek Nuclear Generating .

Station, Forked. River, New Jersey, authorized by NRC License DPR-16 and to the
discussions of our findings held by Mr. M. Dev with Mr. J. DeBlasio .of your
staff at the. conclusion of the inspection.

Areas examined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I
'
. Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the
inspection consisted of selective examinations of procedures and representative
records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the inspector.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed. However,
your attention is directed to the discussions in the enclosed inspection' report
regarding the need to improve station 10 CFR 21 reportability documentation
management;.to establish a procedure for evaluation of Commercial Grade Items;
'and to update and implement procurement procedures for quality assured
procurement activities.
