GPU NUCLEAR CORPORATION (ro0N) TOPICAL REPORT TR-033 REVISION O "METHODS FOR THE GENERATIbN OF CORE GENETICS DATA FOR RETRAN-02" (TACNO.65138)
By letter dated April 15, 1987, GPUN submitted for review Topical Report TR-033, Revision 0, "Methods for the Generation of Core Kinetics Data for RETRAN-02." The infonnation in this report was supplemented by infonration submitted in your letter dated November IP,1987 in response to our request additional inforr.ation.
The staff and its consultant, Brookhaven National Laboratory, have reviewed this inforriation and the results of this review are presented in the enclosed safety evaluation. As discussed therein, the staff concludes that the report, the rethodology and GPUN use of the rethodology to be acceptable.
It should be noted that it is necessary, hcwever, that the uncertainties in the input parareters and their inpact on the RETRAN results be determined for l
subsequent qualification of the RETRAN model. The acceptance of the methods described in this topical report does not establish the adequacy of the RETRAN-020-0 or 1-D model for analyzing a particular transient.
