Response to Safety Evaluation for Generic Letter 83-28, Item 2.2 (Part 1)(TAC 53665).
Gentlemen:
NRC letter dated January 11, 1988 (Log No. 2477) requested Toledo Edison to confirm that the NRC's understanding of the programs, procedures, and systems discussed in TED's submittals dated November 7, 1983 (Serial 1000) and June 10, 1985 (Serial 1158) is correct and that these programs, procedures, and systems are in utte at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station.
Toledo Edison confirms that the NRC's understanding is correct with the following clarification. The NRC's evaluation for Item 2.2.1.2 states the Q-list is being converted to the equipment data base as part of the Davis-Besse Maintenance Management System. This data base will be incorporated in the Davis-Besse Configuration Eaulpment Summary (DBCES) which will be controlled, maintained and updated by procedure.

The programs, procedures and systems that implement the Davis-Besse equipment classification program were in place at the time of our initial response to Generic Letter 83-28 uith the exception of the computerized equipment data base discussed above.
