License Amendment Application to Revise Technical Specification 4.4.5.2, Steam Generator Tube Sample Selection & Inspection, to Include a Third Special Interest Group (TAC No. 66736)
Centlemen:
Enclosed is an application for an Amendment to the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit No. 1 Operating License No. NPF-3, Appendix A, Technical Specifications.
This application requests that the Technical Specifications be revised to reflect the attached change. The proposed change involves adding a third special interest group of steam generator tubes. As a special interest group, these tubes will not be included in the first randon sample, but will all be inspected independently.
This will insure a thorough inspection of the tubes near the center of the steam generators.
Toledo Edison requests that the Technical Specification Amendment be issued by March 11, 1988, for implementation within 30 days thereafter, in order to support pre-inspection activities.
The inspection is presently scheduled to begin on April 3, 1988.
Enclosed is a check for $150 as required by 10CFR170.12(c) for a License Amendment application.
