Combined Inspection Nos. 50-317/87-21 and 50-318/87-23
A routine safety inspection of your annual emergency preparedness exercise was
conducted by Mr. C. Gordon of this office and other members of an NRC team on
November 16-18, 1987, at your Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant,1.usby,
Discussions of our findings were held by Mr. Gordon with you and
other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection are described in the NRC Region I
Inspection Report which is enclosed.
Within these areas, the inspection
consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative records,
interviews with personnel, and observation of the emergency exercise by team
members.
Within the scope of this inspection, no violations were observed.
Baltimore
Gas and Electric Company's performance during the exercise demonstrated the
ability to implement the Emergency Plan and Emergency Plan Implementing
Procedures in a manner that would provide adequate protective measures for the
health and safety of the public.
