SUBJECT:

WOLF CREEK ALLEGATIONS Your May 20, 1986 memorandum to me (Enclosure 1) asked some questions regard-ing the subject allegations which were made last year by Ms Vida Hill a fermer employee of the Quality First Program at Wolf Creek. The Office of Investigatioas (01) has completed its investigations of Ms. Hill's concerns; however, the investigation reports have been withheld from public disclosure for two reasons.

First, public release could affect adversely the current investigation regard-ing the Quality First Program. We see no problem in releasing these reports once we actually start field work which should be within the next month or so.

The second reason is that some of the issues raised by Ms. Hill are reportedly being considered for investigation by the Kansas Attorney General. Thus, we would have to coordinate the public release of our documents with his. office.

I have had Bill Ward, who is personally acquainted with Ms. Hill, contact her and inform her of the reasons for the delay in getting this information to her. Bill both talked with her telephonically, and sent the letter which is appended as Enclosure 2.

I believe the foregoing should substantially answer the questions that you have raised. If not, please let me know if there is anything else that you
