Qualification of Diesel Engine Mounted Control and Monitoring Instrumentation at the La Salle County Station, Units 1 and 2 By letter dated December 4, 1985, you submitted the results of a qualification test program for vibration aging of the engine mounted control and monitoring instrumentation for la Salle County Station. The results showed that except for two General Electric (GE) control switches'per engine, all equipment, control, and monitoring instrumentation is qualified with respect to diesel vibration for the life of the plants (11,500 hours0.00579 days <br />0.139 hours <br />8.267196e-4 weeks <br />1.9025e-4 months <br /> of diesel generator operation). Tre GE switches will be removed from the engine prior to start-up after the first refuel-ing outage for each unit, as committed to within each license.

The NRC staff has reviewed the information end the enclosed Safety Evaluat on finds the test results and commitments acceptable.. Therefore, License Conlition 2.C.(21)(c) for La Salle Unit 1 and License Condition 2.C.(12)(a) for La Salle Unit 2 will be satisfied when the GE switches are removed from the engine.
