Dear Mr. Stolz:
The purpose of this letter is to request withdrawal of Toledo Edison's Operating License amendment request concerning the deletion of the Auxiliary Feedwater Pump Turbine Inl.et Steam Pressure Interlocks (Technical Specification 4.7.1.2d).
This amendment request was submitted to your office on November 5, 1984 (Serial No. 1096). Since the request was submitted, the June 9, 1985 event occurred at the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station Unit No. 1.
The investigation of-the June 9 event has led to a decision to retain these switch interlocks within the main steam lines to the Auxiliary Feedwater Pump Turbine inlets. Therefore, we request withdrawal of our amendment request for the deletion of the Auxiliary Feedwater Pump Turbine Inlet Steam Pressure Interlocks.
