SUBJECT:
CLOSURE OF BULLETIN 92-01, SUPPLEMENT 1. FAILURE OF THERM 0-LAG 330 FIRE BARRIER SYSTEMS, ST. LUCIE UNITS 1 AND 2
Dear Mr. Plunkett:
By letter dated September 29, 1992, Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) responded to NRC Balletin 92-01, Supplement I for St. Lucie Units I and 2.
FPL's response indicated that compensatory measures had been implemented consistent with the requirements of plant procedures covering inoperable fire barriers and would remain in effect untti an acceptable solution was l
implemented.
l FPL's response was reviewed at the time of submittal and found acceptable.
Due to an administrative oversight, FPL was not informed of the results of our review. Our actions related to Bulletin 92-01, Supplement 1, are complete.
FPL responses to Generic Letter (GL) 92-08, "Thermo-Lag 330-1 Fire Barriers,"
i and to requests for additional information (RAI) provided FPL corrective action plans and schedule for the resolution of the Thermo-Lag issue. Our review of FPL responses to CL 92-08 and subsequent RAls is ongoing.
Sincerely.
