REVIEW OF 10 CFR 50.59 REPORT AND REVISION 10 TO UPDATED j
FINAL SAFETY ANALYSIS REPORT (UFSAA) FOR ST. LUCIE UNIT 2 j
(TAC NOS. M96268 AND M96299) 44 By letters dated July 3, and July 5,1996, Florida Power and Light Company i
submitted Revision 10 to the St. Lucie Unit 2 UFSAR and the required report of j
plant changes and modifications made under In CFk 50.59. Both the UFSAR j
revision and the 10 CFR 50.59 report revered the period April 23, 1994 to j
January 5, 1996.
I have completed a review of both of these submittals, including a verification of the performance of a 10 CFR 50.59 evaluation for each significant UFSAR change. Since the 10 CFR 50.59 report only includes a brief l
description and summary of the safety evaluations, a conclusion as to the j
adequacy of the safety evaluations was not made. However, a number of safety i
evaluations were identified for detailed review during a site inspection scheduled for February 1997, as well as several UFSAR changes for which a 50.59 evaluation could not be identified. The results of the site inspection will be included in the monthly rasident inspection report. This completes action on TAC Nos. M96268 and M96299.
