Inservice Inspection Summary Report

- Spring 1985 Outage

Dear Sir:

ASME Section 7.I requires submittal to the NRC of the enclosed James A. FitzPatrick Inservice Inspection (ISI) Summary Report for the Spring 1985 (Reload 6/ Cycle 7) refueling outage.

This completes ISI requirements for the first ten year interval for this plant.

This report includes inspections performed in four general categories.

The first category consists of examinations of pipe supports, welds, and other pressure retaining components performed in accordance with the FitzPatrick Inservice Inspection Program and Reference 1.

The second category consists of the examination of susceptible stainless steel piping for evidence of intergranular stress corrosion cracking in accordance with NUREG 0313, Revision 1 and Generic Letter 84-11.

The results of these examinations were previously submitted in Reference 2.

The third category consists of the examination of the jet pump beams and core spray spargers in accordance with IE Bulletins 80-07 and 81-13, and the examination of source range monitor and intermediate range monitor instrument dry tubes as discussed in Reference 3.

The fourth category consists of the hydrostatic testing of all Class 1 piping systems and the pressure testing of all Class 3 piping and supports as indicated in Reference 1.

An overview of the inspection results are listed in Volume I of this summary report.

The detailed examination reports are included in Volumes II through IV.
