The attached draft Commission paper that contains proposed revisions for 10 CFR Part 35 and. Regulatory Guide 10.8 was prepared in response to a memorandum to Mr. Dircks from Mr. Chilk dated June 23, 1983 (see enclosure 2 of the Commission paper). Comments from several cognizant individuals and the Agreement States have been included in the i Commission paper. The Regulatory Guide has not been previously ci rculated.
l In order to provide an overview of the package and to answer any questions you may have before you prepare your_ final comments, Norman McElroy of my staff will contact a member of your staff to schedule a briefing at your convenience.
