Memorandum Davis to Regional Administrators dated March 8, 1982 We have reviewed your letter on the purposes and goals for improving material

. licensing and are in agreement with them.

We are looking forward in participating in this effort. As you requested, Mr. G. D. Brown, Chief, Technical Program Branch is the regional representative and will attend the task force meeting which is scheduled on March 25, 1982.

We have reviewed the February 26, 1982, draft of the revision of 10 CFR Part 35 i and are forwarding our coments directly to Dr. William Walker. Our : review i

indicated that additional time and effort will be required to inspecti for compliance with the requirements in this Part.

However, this is more than compensated for by the savings in licensing resources and simplification of the licensing process.
