This refers to your memorandum of March 8,1982 on the same subject. The ,

efforts of you and your staff to make the licensing process more efficient '!

through regulatory improvement are most appreciated. I strongly support i the program to codify and streamline the licensing process and look forward i to Dr. Walker's visit. Region I is prepared to actively participate in the planning and implementation of these improvements.

. James H. Joyner, Chief. Technical Inspection Branch, will attend the briefing -

in Silver Spring by Dr. Walker on Thursday, March 25, 1982. Dr. John Glenn of the Region I Licensing Section will also attend this briefing..

My staff has reviewed the February 26, 1982 draft revision of 10 CFR Part 35.
