SUBJECT:

ISRAELI VISIT REQUEST (FEBRUARY 21, 1985)

The Israeli Atomic Energy Comission (IAEC) has requested NRC appointments on Thursday, Februe.ry 21, 1985 for Dr. Eli Stern, Head of the IAEC Risk Assessment Department to discuss the risk assessment aspects of the following topics:

1.

source tenus for severe accidents 2.

consequence modelling of Ecidents 3.

demographic siting criteria.

Dr. Stern also indicated that he wishes to meet with Dr. William A. Mills.

HEBR, while at NRC.

If acceptable, I suggest the following as a working schedule for the proposed discussions:

participate.

By copy of this meno, NRR is advised of this request and the proposed schedule in the event that their participation is required, particularly for the third topic. However, I would expect RES to take the lead in these discussions since Dr. Stern has asked to discuss them frty the perspective of risk assessment.
