Gentlemen:
This refers to the emergency preparedness followup inspection conducted by
Mr. C. A. Hackney of this office during the period June 24-28, 1985, of
activities authorized by NRC Operating License NPF-32, for Wolf Creek
Generating Station, and to the discussion of our findings with Mr. F. T. Rhodes
and other members of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection.
Areas examined during the inspection included the followup on emergency
preparedness appraisal deficiencies in training, organization, emergency
procedures, and emergency response facilities and equipment.
Within these
areas, the inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and
representative records, interviews with personnel, and observations by the
inspector.
These findings are documented in the enclosed inspection report.
During this inspection, it was found that certain of your activities appeared
to deviate from commitments made to the NRC.
These items are referenced to
the commitments identified in the enclosed Notice of Deviation.
Your corrective actions in response to the deviations were reviewed by the NRC
inspector prior to conclusion of the inspection and, therefore, no additional
response is required.
Should you have any questions concerning this inspection, we will be pleased to
discuss them with you.
