APPENDIX A NOTICE OF DEVIATION Kansas Gas and Electric Company Docket:

50-482 Wolf Creek Generating Station License: NPF-32 Based on the results of an NRC inspection conducted during the period of June 24-28, 1985, and in accordance with the " General Statement of Policy and Procedure for NRC Enforcement Actions," 10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C, (1985), the following deviations were identified.

A.

Failure to Meet Commitment for Indoctrination of Visitors In a letter dated January 30, 1985, a commitment was made to the NRC that visitors to the Wolf Creek Generating Station would receive site evacuation information prior to entering the search area. The information would describe the site evacuation siren and how the visitor would be instructed to vacate the site in the event of an emergency.

In deviation from the above, site evacuation information was not being shown to visitors prior to entry into the search area at the time of the NRC inspection on June 24, 1985. (482/8529-01)

In response to the above deviation, the Emergency Plan Administrator, in a letter dated June E5, 1985, described corrective actions and action to preclude further deviation from commitments to the NRC.

The NRC inspector revitwed the KG&E response prior to departing the site; therefore, no additional response is required for the above deviation.

8.

Failure to Retain Monthly Communication Procedure Checklists Pursuant to the requirements in 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix E IV E.9.d.,

monthly communications tests are to be conducted for the control room, E0F, and TSC. In a letter dated January 30, 1985, a commitment was made to the NRC that monthly communication checks would be performed in accordance with procedure EPP 02-16, and the results of the communication checks would be documented.

In deviation to the above the licensee could not produce communication checklist documentation for the months of March and April 1985.

(482/2529-02)

In response to the deviation, the Emergency Plan Administrator, in a letter dated June 28, 1985, described corrective action requiring future communication checklists to be placed in the permanent file for storage.

The NRC inspector reviewed the KG&E response prior to departing the site; therefore, no additional response is required for the above deviation.
