Items 1, 2, and 6 of your letter of February lo,1965, which apply to the Crystal-Solid State Division only of The Harshaw Chemical Company were corrected shortly after Mr. Jim Roy's inspection by establishing the following =teps and Drocedures:

Item I vos corrected through issuance of Byproduct Material License No. 3k-6558-5 which authorizes the quantity of isotopes on hand as well as the past and current use of them.

Item J was corrected by establishing a " Receipt and Shipment" log dating from January 1,196k, which shows source number, isotope, activity, date received, date shipped, manufacturer and serial numt'er, customer and address, customer's license / contract number, for all radioisotopes nandled 'by the Crystal-Solid State Division.

Item 6 vea corrected by wipe testing the plutonium-beryllium source and recording the results in microcuries in a " Wipe Test" log. The log dates from January 1,1965, and contains records of all required vipe tests on radioisotopic sources owned or handled by the Crystal-Solid State Division.

Full compliance with respect to items 1, 2, and 6 was achieved January 1, 1965.

License f 3h-6558-3 was obtained by Mr. C. E. Hoskins, Manager of our Elyria Plant. Items 3, k, and 5 ofyour letter refer to this license, and we have consequently forwarded this information to Mr. Hoskins who vill undoubtedly contact you directly.'
