Dear Mr. Johnson:

IE Inspection Report 84-28 The Omaha Public Power District received the subject report dated January 24, 1985, which concerned an inspection of the chenistry/radiochenistry program, radiochemistry confirmatory measurements, and whole body counting system con-finnatory measurements for Fort Calhoun Station.

I In order to complete the confirmatory measurements inspection, the NRC request-ed the Radiological and Environnental Sciences Laboratory (RESL) to send OPPD a prepared unknown sample for analysis. Results of the analysis were to be submitted to the NRC for culparison studies. Pursuant to this request, the results of the RESL test sample are given below.

An eight milliliter aliquot was used for the detennination of gamma emitters, a 0.4 milliliter aliquot was used for determination of tritium and a ten milli-leter aliquot was used for the strontium analysis in accordance with Fort Cal-houn Station procedures. The results, decay corrected to January 11, 1985, and with the statistical error given at one (1) sigma are as follows:
