Dear Mr. Johnson:

As you probably W ow, Dr. Pittman has called a meeting on February 25 to a.scuss the problems of sale of special nuclear materials as contrasted to the present leasing arrangement.

i Mr. Belmore and I plan to attend this meeting.

Under separate cover you will receive in the next few days additional information on the shipping containers originally applied for on 31 October 1958.

You will also receive an application for approval of a shipping container for fuel elements.

Mr. Belmore and I would appreciate your arranging a meeting for February 26, at Germantown, to discuss in detail these applica-tions for shipping containers and to present additional facts to the aminars if they so desire. We believe, because of the complexity of the shipping container problem and the changes that have occurred in the method of evaluating the acceptability of such containers, that this personal meeting is essential to clarify the situation.

If we can be of any assistance in planning such a meeting, do not hesitate to call upon us.
