l Reference is u.ade to the acnorandum to the files dated March 10,1C59 and memoranda to the files to which it in turn refers regarding Mallinckrodt Chemical Corpcration's request for a special nuclect material license and subsequent anendr.cnts thereto.

By application dated May 11, 1959, as anended May 25,1959, the appli-cant requests that its license SNM-33 be amended to authorize proced-ures for the direct conversion of UF to UFh and by application dated June 29, 1959, as modified July 16, 61959, the shipment of uranium dioxido pellets.

Based on our review of the infomation furnished by the applicant, it is hereby detemined that the applicant is qualified, by training and experience, to use special nuclear material for the purpose requested and that the applicant's procedures, facilities and equip-ment are adequate to protect health and minimize danger to life and property. It is, therefore, detemined that SNM-33 may be amended to authorize the additional activities.
