Your letter dated August 22, 1985 requested additional information regarding our submittals addressing NUREG-0737, Item 11.0.1, Testing of Safety / Relief Valves.

Since receiving this request, we have initiated the additional research and reviews to answer each question. We have determined through these reviews that additional work is necessary before we can respond to each question and therefore, we request an extension for providing the reauested information.

We will provide a response to questions 1 through 6 of your request for additional information by November 15, 1985. Question 7 reauires considerable more evaluation and work in order to provide additional documentation demonstrating the Target Rock Safety Valves will operate as expected for a feedline break with asumptions different from those discussed in the Updated Final Safety Analysis Report.

This additional information will be submitted oy January 31, 1986.

This delay has been discussed with our NRC Project Manager, Mr.

Peter Tim, and the staff reviewer responsible for this NUREG-0737 item and has been determined acceptable.

If you have any Questions related to our efforts on this subject, please contact my office.

Very tru y yours, dk
