Your letter of July 2,1984 requested additional information related to our submittals addressing NUREG-0737 item II.D.1, Testing of Safety / Relief Valves.
Since that time, we have been researching in-house documents and the EPRI test documents in order to respond to your request.
We have, however, determined that additional assistance is required from the Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Westinghouse was contracted to prepare our plant-specific report in response to this NUREG item.
As such, additional details related to your request for additional information must be obtained from Westinghouse.
We therefore request an extension of time for submitting the additional information contained in your request.
Westinghouse's schedule for completing this work has been impacted by the large numoer of utilities requesting their support on this same issue. Therefore, based on their schedule for support and our internal reviews, it is expected that the response to your letter will be submitted by December 31, 1984.
We have been in contact with our NRC Project Manager, Peter Tam, so as to keep him informed of our expected delay.
