Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Unit 1 - Release of Shift Advisors By letter dated July 1,1985, Mississippi Power and Light Company notified the NRC of its plan to release shift advisors assigned to each operating shift at Grand Gulf Unit 1. Operating License Condition 2.C.(29) specifies that a shift advisor with substantive previous BWR operating experience shall be assigned to each operating shift until the plant achieves and demonstrates full power operation. Licensee's letter of July 1,1985, advised the staff it has now met the requirements of License Condition 2.C.(29) and requested NRC staff review and concurrence.

The NRC staff has completed its review of the information provided by licensee's July 1,1985 letter in support of its position that License Condition 2.C.(29) is fulfilled. The staff's safety evaluation is enclosed. The staff concludes ,

that requirements in License Condition 2.C.(29) have been satisfied and, therefore, shift advisors may be released as planned.
