CATEGORICAL EXCLUSION FOR AMENDMENT REQUEST DATED JUNE 26, 1985 By letter dated June 26, 1985, Cleveland Electric, acting on its own behalf and as agent for the above listed companies, requested an amendment to License No.
SNM-1928 to increase the number of irradiated neutron detector storage casks allowed from one to two. The present license permits the receipt, possession, inspection, and use of one irradiated neutron detector storage cask.
The same radiation protection measures will be employed for the storage and handling of the two casks as were employed for the one cask. Accordingly, the staff has concluded that the following conditions have been met:
- 1. There is no significant increase in the type or significant increase in the amount of any effluents that may be released offsite,
- 2. There is no significant increase in individual or cumulative occupational radiation exposure,
- 3. There is no significant construction impact, and
- 4. There is no significant increase in the potential for or consequences from radiological accidents.
Therefore, in accordance with 10 CFR 51.22(c)(11), neither an Environmental Assessment nor an Environmental Impact Statement is warranted for this proposed action.
