Dear Irene:

Dick Allen, Lillian van Santen and I have reviewed your proposal for long-term evaluation of NRC's career counseling program. I regret the length of time it has taken for me to respond, but the Holidays, et al, have dealyed things a bit.

After reviewing your proposal, it appears to us that the current manner of evaluating the effectiveness of career counseling is sufficient for our immediate needs. I do agree that it would be nice to go into a long-term evaluation process. However, the funding situation and an increase in the number of high-cost, high-priority training efforts prevents me from applying any more money to career counseling than is currently in my budget. I believe, at least for the time being, that I will have to defer any long-term evaluation and be satisfied with the all-inclusive near-term evaluations currently be provided.

I do appreciate your interest and concern, and will keep your proposal in mind in the event future funding allows me to broaden my activities in the career counseling business.

Sincerel ,
