On September 18,1992, Georgia Power Company (GPC) submitted an application to amend Facility Operating License (FOL) Nos. NPF-68 and NPF-81 which would authorize Southern Nuclear Operating Company, Inc. (Southern Nuclear) to become the licensed operator and have exclusive responsibility and control over the physical ,

construction, operation, and maintenance of Vogtle Electric Generating Plant, Unit I and Unit 2 (VEGP). By letters to the NRC dated October 7,1992 and October 15, 1992, and September 11,1996, GPC supplemented this application.  !

Similar to the October 15,1992 letter, GPC is proposing wording revisions to the proposed changes to the Facility Operating Licenses Nos. NPF-68 and NPF-81. These /pyh wording revisions, which are provided in the attachment, merely refer to the latest revision dates of the Physical Security and Contingency Plan and the Guard Training and Qualification Plan. Additionally, the revised inserts recognize that on March 2, 1992, GPC submitted Revision 7 to the Guard Training and Qualification Plan which removed the safeguards category from the entire document.

It has also come to the attention of GPC that the name " Southern Nuclear Operating Company" was used in the marked-up version of the license. The complete and correct

" Southern Nuclear," after being properly defined, as an abbreviated form of the  !

corporation name continues to be appropriate. Please make any necessary revisions to this affect.
