w SPECIAL REPORT 50-366/1985-01 LICENSEE GEORGIA POWER COMPANY FACILITY NAMES:
EDWIN I. HATCH DOCKET NUMBER :
50-366 On 3/8/85 at approximately 0235 CST with the Unit in Hot Shutdown at approximately 733 psig, plant personnel were operating HPCI in the test mode to control reactor pressure (i.e.,
the Main Steam Isolation Valves were closed),
and they ~ were using RCIC to maintain reactor level.
When reactor level began decreasing, plant personnel operated HPCI in the injection mode for approximately 9 minutes to return the reactor level to normal.
They then returned HPCI to the test mode.
As of the date of this report, there have been twenty-seven HPCI injections into the reactor _ vessel.
