_ TELEPHONE (414)755-2321, Extension 361 Unit 2 operated at an average of 410 MWe not daily throughout this report period.
On September 26, the unit was taken off line for a refueling and maintenance outage (U2R18).
LER 92-002-00, " Radioactive Waste Disposal System Component-Coolir.g Water' isolation Valves Outside Design Basis," was reported in~accordance with 10 CFR 50.73.
While~ performing hot rod drop' test, with the reactor subcritical, operators observed unexpected rod motios..
The rod bottom lights-came on:and the red position indicator went to zero.
.This was-ur. anticipated by the operating crew.
The-reactor was manually tripped.
A new rod drop test system was recently installed to allow testing of-all rod drops simultaneously.
This was the first-time the test was ured.
During the performunce of in-service testing (at cold shutdown) of the main steam line non-return check valve, the "A" valve _ failed to fully close.
The valve remained 10% open and was shut manually per procedure.
Safety-related maintenance included:
1.
Replaced original Westinghouse inverter with new Solidstate Controls, Inc. inverter, completing replacement of all~
original invertera.
2.
Disassembled containment spray pump and removed blockage from-impeller.
Reassembled and returned to service.-
