updated status of the corrective actions taken to resolve this issue. This letter is considered to be an Interim Report.

Status,of Corrective Actions -

Since the last Interim Report, Reference (c), corrective actions have continued on the balance of Phillips, Getschow production radiographs with identified concerns. To achieve full code compliance, these actions included repair and/or re-radiography as applicable. An additional 24 welds have been completed and four, partially complete d.

'The current status reflects 59 of the 104 complete and a balance of 45 still requiring attention. It should be noted that 18 of the remaining 45 welds will not be accessible for repair and/or re-radiography any sooner than January 2, 1986.

These welds are associated with the Unit 2 Containment Spray System. )b.

S' g J.G. Keppler, March 21, 1985 Of the nine production radiographs which could not be located, five have been re-radiographed and are. completed, one has been cut-out and no longer requires any action, with a balance of

. three remaining. Correc'tive action on the'se three is currently

underway.

,Regarding the welder qualifications of both Phillips, Getschow and Power Systems Inc., the procedures needed to address

~l concerns are still being developed. As indicated in Reference (c), when these programs are developed, they will be described in a subsequent Interim Report.

Reference (c) addressed resolution and completion of G.K.

Newberg and Universal Power Piping welder qualifications, so no further action is required.

A completion date for the above corrective actions depends on gaining access to.the 18 Unit II Containment Spray welds previously mentioned. A status report will be submitted when significant additional progress is made which we expect by November 1,.1985.
