WELD DEFICIENCIES, ITEM 180
Dear Mr. O'Reilly:
On June 28, 1984, Mr. N. J. Chiangi notified the NRC (Mr. A. Hardin) of a potentially reportable item per the provisions of 10CFR50.55(e) and 10CFR, Part 21.
The NRC was informed that weld deficiencies were identified in four RAB Emergency Air Cleaning Units supplied by CTI Nuclear, Inc.
CP&L is currently awaiting Ebasco to complete an analysis of the weld:4 connections which were identified as deficient.
It is project.c4 that the analysis will be received and a report on the reportsbility of this item will be issued by August 30, 1984.
