Dear Mr. Denton:
In response to Virgil C.
Summer Nuclear Station Operating License Condition 2.C.7, the following information is provided.
South Carolina Electric and Gas Company (SCE&G), by letter from O. W.
Dixon, Jr. to Harold R.
Denton, dated September 29, 1982, provided a summary of the analysis performed justifying continued operation with the thermal sleeves removed from selected nozzles in the reactor coolant system.
This justification has since been supported by a Westinghouse letter (Proprietary) from E.
P.
Rahe to R.
H.
Vollmer, " Design Transients Related to Thermal Sleeve Removal," NS-EPR-276 3, dated May 9,198 3.
SCE&G considers submittal of the above described documents to the 1
Staff sufficient to meet the requirements of License Condition 2.C.7.
