ADMINISTRATIVE ERROR IN ISSUANCE OF FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE AMENDMENT N0. 164 - PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION (PNPS)
Dear Mr. Boulette:
The reactor high pressure trip level setting was inadvertently changed in the process of issuing Amendment 164. The control value for the reactor high pressure trip level setting is 76 psig. (ref. Amendment 162, page 3/4.2-7).
The inadvertent change was an administrative error.
It was the result of overlapping amendments affecting the same page (3/4.2-7) of the PNPS Technical Specifications (TSs). Amendment 162 changed the reactor high pressure trip level setting from 110 psig to 76 psig.
It was submitted on September 6, 1994, and approved on March 27, 1995. Amendment 164 changed the reactor high water level isolation trip level setting.
It was submitted on February 9, 1995, and approved on June 15, 1995. Amendment 164 inadvertently changed the reactor high pressure trip level setting from 76 psig back to 110 psig. A copy of the corrected TS page for Amendment 164 is enclosed.
Please update the PNPS TSs accordingly.
